When you adopt a pet from a shelter or rescue, you save lives and change that animal’s life forever.
Once you have decided which dog you are interested in adopting from Lil Rascals, complete the adoption application by clicking on the button below. Please make sure to answer every question honestly and completely. Incomplete apps will not be considered.
Our Process
Once we have received your application, please be patient as we go through them. If an applicant meets all the qualifications for a particular dog, we then fully screen the application, by:
- Speaking with your vet
- Speaking with your references
- Speaking with the applicant
- Applicant speaks with the foster mom/dad
If all is approved to that point, we schedule an in-person home visit. If we do not have a volunteer in your area to do an in-person home visit, then we cannot consider your application. We are not able to satisfy this need with a video/virtual visit.
Once these steps have been completed and an application has been approved, we schedule a meet & greet with the pup/potential adopter and their dog(s) if they choose to bring them. If it is a perfect match at the meet, the adoption contract is completed, the adoption donation is paid (we accept cash, check, credit/debit card or PayPal) and the dog goes home with the adopter.
Please keep in mind that Lil Rascals Dog Rescue is run by volunteers with full-time jobs, families and furry kids. Please be patient as we go through the applications, as we have many dogs that we receive multiple applications for. It is our responsibility to protect our rescue pups and find the best home possible for each pup.
